  1. I look forward to reading more from this blog. I teach first grade and group all my books by topic, fiction and nonfiction books on the same topic within the same box. So for example, when we study frogs, I have Frog and Toad books along with my nonfiction text. I also place the weekly readers on that topic and place a list of united streaming videos I've used on the back of the box label. It keeps me organized and my students learning!

  2. During an organism study with a focus on plants, I read the book Tops & Bottoms. Then I used I used several non-ficiton books to show the student that we eat plant roots, and other other vegetables that grow on top like cabbage. This made the story meaningful for the children. Do you have any suggestions for video clips I could use with this book?

  3. Since you are an educator in the state of Alabama you have access to APT Plus and Learn 360 http://www.aptv.org. The databases give you access to a large collection of videos, images, and other media. The database allows you to narrow your search by grade level, topic, and state standards.
